Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhu) reports that once the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, "To be truthful is compulsory upon you since to be truthful leads one towards good and good leads one towards Jannat (Paradise). If one continuously speaks the truth, then he reaches that stage, where by Almighty Allah, he is written down as a "Siddique". Abstain from lies, since lies will lead you towards evil and evil leads one towards Hell. When one continuously lies, then He is recognised by Almighty Allah as a "Kaazib" (liar). |
